Rudy Olivo grew up in Columbus, Indiana. He thought he would go into law
enforcement
as his father did but ended up managing a financial institution. Starr Walker
grew up
in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. She became an educator and taught middle school
math.
God spoke to both of them and sent them to seminary at Asbury in Kentucky. They
met there
and were married on November 17, 2007. Rudy and Starr will fill us in on all the
other
particulars. For now, just know they were both called to the ministry after
pursuing other
careers. They bring with them the skills learned from those careers. They also
bring a deep commitment to God. They have promised to bring their dedication to
God and their love
to PHUMC. Rudy will be preaching on eight of Jesus’ ancestors during his first
sermons.
He will be using the genealogy from the first chapter of Matthew. Get out your
Bibles, read up
on the scripture, and be prepared to take a journey with our new pastor.
